Pasture and Grain Foaming Meteorism (PDF)

Book review

.
In this book, Veterinarian Guillermo Bavera makes a synthesis of current knowledge and preventive solutions on this subject to make them available to producers.

In general, according to the author, ruminants are prone to foaming meteorism, and although there are differences in susceptibility between species, the retention of gases in animals reduces their motility, affecting the pressure of the respiratory and circulatory mechanisms, causing economic losses due to significant decreases in production, with high mortality in the most severely affected animals. In this context, and although it is a complex multi-causal problem, knowing the various factors involved in its appearance, the forms of prevention, manifestations, advantages and disadvantages of each technology and its opportunity for use, is essential for efficient control through appropriate preventive solutions within the reach of producers.

This practical guide, as defined by the author, is intended to be a useful tool for professional advisors and farmers.
